There are a few places to get donuts in Mount Juliet, but if you want the best donuts, you have to go to Gourmet Donuts. Nader began making donuts and putting smiles on the faces of people in Mount Juliet about 13 years ago.
You can find just about everyone in Mount Juliet stopping by from time to time. There are many regular customers and always new people discovering this Mount Juliet gem each and every day.
Sundays are the busiest time for the shop. Many stop by on the way to church for coffee and donuts. Lots of churches order in advance and have the donuts waiting for them at church. To prepare for Sunday, Nader and his team put it extra work. His wife, Romena for example, gets to the shop at 7:00 p.m. on the Saturday night to begin the donut making process for Sunday. To prepare for every other day of the week, she comes in at midnight. I think that Nader would agree that Romena works as hard or harder than anyone to make Gourmet Donuts as awesome as it is.
Coffee with a Cop is scheduled every few months at the shop. This event brings the Mount Juliet Police Department to Gourmet Donuts. That gives the people of Mount Juliet a great opportunity to meet Police Chief James Hambrick and many of the other officers and leaders at the department. Coffee with a Cop is a great event. If you haven’t experienced it, keep a watch for the next date.
Nader has so many choices, there is a donut for everyone at the shop. The kids love the sprinkle donuts, M&M donuts, and even an occasional donut with breakfast cereal sprinkled on it. My personal favorite is the apple and cherry fritters…. or maybe its the maple-bacon donut. It sounds weird, but it’s actually really good!
Other favorites are the basic chocolate topped, jelly filled, and the blueberry cake donuts are really good too. Of course, Nader also has donut holes if you prefer those.
Gourmet Donuts is conveniently located at 3993 N. Mount Juliet Road, across from Courtneys. It’s on the city’s north side, which is usually a bit less crowded and slower paced than the Providence area of town.
If you’re looking to put a smile on your kid’s face or even your own, make a trip to see Nader. You’ll be glad you did!
